During Eunoia UX Hackathon's 10-day challenge, our team undertook a transformative project for Caltec Solutions.

Tasked with facilitating their shift from B2C to B2B operations via a comprehensive website redesign, I spearheaded research and UX design efforts. Applying a strategic product approach, we not only remodeled their web presence but also refreshed their brand identity to align with their new business direction.

Our team has recently completed the hackathon project for Caltec Solutions, and we are excited to share the results with you. Our main objective was to provide a comprehensive digital transformation that revitalizes your branding, enhances user experience, and streamlines maintenance for your small business IT service.

We understand that the client wants a new website to attract more customers.

Having evaluated the current website, we found that the navigation, style and content of the website is outdated. Therefore, we spent time to reorganize the information architecture and made sitemaps.

I made this the site map with my IT knowledge. The client was impressed by the site mapping because it cleaned up the page to reduce repetitions and they agreed with my information architecture design.

Our direction is set to design a new website, tailored for the client. Considering the client may not have the capacity to hire someone to build the fully customized website for him, we aimed to create a guideline that gives the structure direction and writing guide for him to follow. So that the client can actually use our design after this hackathon, instead of having a fancy mockup that will never came to be implemented.

To match up with our new website plan, I designed a set of new visual identity to boost Caltec’s digital visibility and validity. The client liked the new brandings a lot.

ChatGPT Powered Writing Guide

My ideas of a hand-off guide on using ChatGPT for the content writing also got client’s compliment. This guide would help the client renovate the existing content on the website.

Reflection

Engaging in the 10-day hackathon presented a unique challenge; conducting extensive research in such a tight timeline was strenuous. Our strategy was to center our efforts on our client's genuine needs, considering the practical benefits he could gain from this hackathon.

Balancing this task with another major project stretched my capacity for focus. However, the intensive work paid off - our client preferred our solution above the four other teams'. This victory is a testament to our effective strategy and adaptability, leaving me pleased with our performance despite the demanding conditions.
